Keep in mind that leaded gas will destroy your catalytic converter in short order.

Any race local race track should sell 100 unlead, as well as 110 leaded. It usually runs about $4.50 - $5.50/gallon.

As for Av. gas, from what I remember, it will make the engine run hotter and will kill your cat. converter.

Here in south Florida, you can get it at Moroso (west palm beach) and Homestead.

AV fuel is very bad for vehicles that stay on the gound. The fuel is designed for low RPM and reduced oxygen enviorments. The engines we have were not designed for AV fuel. AV fuel is not designed for out engines. Planes stay at a constant RPM, not large flucuations like we see. AV fuel can potentailly ruin your engine which is the worst case. The best case is your engine will run like crap.

Using a fuel with a higher octane rating then what is suggested will result in the same performance or even lower. Higher octane does not equl more power.

Think of it this way, lower octane has more potential power. Higher octane has less potential power. Why do higher performance engines have higher power? They have properties that require the higher octane to achieve it. Higher compression usually requires higher octane. If you used lower octane in the engine, it would knock and ping because the fuel would pre-ignite. The higher octane is is harder to ignite. The higher compression produces more heat and makes the mix easier to ignite.

If you still want to use higher octane fuel go ahead, but stay away from AV fuel. BTW, there have been a few studies that have shown higher octance fuel reduces the output of the motor.

Almost all the 76 and Citgo stations in Charlotte have 100 octane. They have it on one single pump station.

I wouldn't bother with the higher octane fuel, unless you have a supercharger. I noticed no difference in my S2000 and it actually seemed to run worse, but I definitely noticed an improvement in my 4Runner.

It's at the Speedway gas station right next to Holler Honda. You can't miss it.

I STAND CORRECTED:
Periodically we need to admit when we're wrong. I just checked my flight receipts from John Wayne Airport and find "leaded" AV-Gas I have made a mistake and so stand corrected. Thank you for the lesson learned. Hell I design flight contols and deal with hydraulics not fuel

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the correction
