Thumbs up Hitting Rev Limiter, smell afterwards...

A couple of times when I've accidently hit the rev limiter (in gear), there's been a funny smell afterwards for about 10-20 seconds, is this normal? If so, whats the cause?

Nope - clutch not slipping.

Not really an oil smell - but a burning smell.

Going to have to check - unfortunately its been awhile since I've smelt burning oil.

Lets assume it is for now, is it normal when hitting the rev limiter? I don't get the smell any other time.

I bounce off the rev limiter all of the time and have yet to smell a thing. That is not normal

Just a note - the roof is down - not sure of the relevance to smell.

With a 2000 S2000, or any AP1, its common to smell oil in VTEC - F20 engines burn oil when its engaged. All the rev limiter is is a fuel cut off, so you don't do any damage by hitting it on acceleration.
