Default HKS exhaust

hey guys you know how the HKS exhaust comes with that cylinder thing just inbetween both mufflers which is used to quiet down the sound or something... does it lose power? anyone with a dyno report having dynoed their car with that installed, or if anyone has removed it have u noticed any gain?? please post.

sheesh the loss of 0-5hp wont hurt. the most important thing is the driver skills.

honestly like the guy above said you'd probably lose such a little amount, if anything it wouldn't be noticeable. I say its more of an exhaust where no gains and no losses are made, just nice sound

HKS is all about the sounds. It's not crazy light and it won't give you any HP at all, but it sounds hell nice

BTW I just bought one.

any type of restriction may cause some loss of hp, but most people buy the hks system for the sound, not the performance.

did any of u guys remove that cylinder?? and just straight welded the pipes so they free flow?? also anyone put an aftermarket cat?

HKS didn't lose anything noticeable for me. i have a test pipe and it sounds amazing. i've gotten countless compliments on it from people who drive all types of cars. without the test pipe it sounds too close to stock to justify buying it.

Same here. i get a hella complements. With the cat, its just tooo quiet. the the test pipe gives it more of a "WOOAAAAAAA" sound.
