Default Honda Reliability?

This question goes out to those of you with stock S2000's: Does Honda reliability really show through with your S2000? Have any of your ever got a lemon S2K, or one that ALWAYS needed to be repaired for whatever reason? Or has your honda really proven that's it was worthy of the "Reliable Honda" reputation?

Only reason why I'm asking this is because I'm strongly considering buying/leasing one within the next month, so any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've only had my '05 for going on 2 months and 3700 miles, but from what I've read on the various boards, the S is just as reliable as any of the other cars Honda makes.

"It's a Honda."

That's really all you need to know, especially in comparison to any of the sports car competition. Lot's of 100K mile odometers still going strong.

I have my S2k for about 2 months with 3800 miles on without any problems.

Cheers,

That is the single dumbest statement I have read in a week.

Who leads the initial and long term relliability statistics? Not Honda.

yes, but honda is at the top of the list, right behind toyota.

I haven't had mine long, but I have clients that have had theirs for 20-30k miles or more, drove them very hard, as sports cars should be driven, and no real problems.

Not that the NSX is an S2000, but that car also shows that honda/acura build reliable sports cars, as those also go over 100k miles with no major problems.

You can get a lemon with any car, but of course some occur less often (toyota/honda), and some occur more often (land rover, volkswagen tuareg).

Please don't start a flame war, I just want to know how reliable YOUR S2000's are, although, that was a pretty dumb post by BlueDevil JK... sorta

i guess it was just a generalization that honda's are known to be reliable.

Mine is an '00 and will be 5 years old this fall. I have had nothing major (or minor for that matter) go on it. It is a daily (including some of the harshest winters that any S2000 will ever endure) driven car as well as having been supercharged for the last 2 years. I've just completed a 3500 mile driving vacation in it and it didn't so much as hiccup along the way. The car has never failed me or given me cause for alarm (except for some of the mods that I did on it).
Sure, there have been reported "lemons" on this forum, as I'm sure there are with almost any car you can imagine (have you seen the comments of the Benz M class?). Besides, if you ask a targetted question, it is entirely possible that those with bad cars will find this thread and post. You could even see an inordinate number of such postings. Will this represent a real world % of bad S2000s? I think not. People with trouble free cars are not as likely to respond as those with "lemons". That is to say, if you get 10 good reports in this thread and then you see 1 bad one, this doesn't necessarily mean that 10% of all S2000s in the world have been lemons.
If yo want to be reassured that Honda and the S2000 is the most reliable out there, you will be sadly disappointed. On the other hand, it won't be anywhere near the bottom of the list, either.

edit: I lied. My window reg did the same as what has been reported further down this thread. No big deal for me. I installed a 50 buck (gift to me) Autoloc and fixed it easily. Now I also have auto-UP. I considered this little problem to have been a "good thing" as it helped me discover a really neat device.
