I think you should change the Heading on this post because HONDA didn't tell you anything. Quoting a tech that works at a HONDA dealership is NOT the same as hearing something DIRECTLY from HONDA. Who knows this guy could of been an lube tech who does nothing but oil changes and has no HONDA training. Best to consider the source before opening up a can of worms. JFYI a recommendation from HONDA is not a requirement.

The Honda Techs are certified representatives of the company. Their information should be up-to-date, and accurate. Honda is just as responsible for the work their techs do and say, as the factory is for problems. YEAH RIGHT!!

That may be the way it is supposed to be, but REALITY is that most (95%) of the techs I have spocken with or heard of are SEVERELY LACKING in knowledge of our car. I don't know if that is because of limited exposure or what.

All I know is that I end up teaching the techs stuff more than they help me out with problemsolving.

Thank God and S2KI for this ultra-helpful website.

well this thread did exactly what i expected it to do. get mixed results. i myself still have not used any additives in my motor. a very good friend of mine is a ford tech and he uses fuel cleaners in his 03 cobra and 01 lightining that are heavily modded. he belives in them very highly. his opinion was he couldn't see a reason it would hurt an s2000 fuel system or engine. but unless i am planing on keeping the car for 100k+miles there really isn't any big advantage to useing any of the fuel treatments. but like most people say it won't hurt yoru car just empty your wallet.
