Default hood ripping due to use and age.

The hood on my year 2000 s2000 had been slowly starting to rip on either side down close to the body just behind either door window. Is just from over use and general wear and tear but i'm wondering if there is any way of stopping this, like a patch or repair kit? To replace the hood is so costly and why put a second hand one on if its going to go down the same way... Any help on this wud be greatly appreciated!

"Hood" for you means soft top, right.

Do a search. Lots of threads on the topic.
