hoods with openings
Hi, I was wondering if hoods with opening will be bad during rainfall...i.e. amuse, js...etc. Can they be driven in the rain or is that not advised? Just checking...thanx
man, you know how bad it has been raining in socal, well i got the mugen, and not one drop of water gets in my bay. i even leave it parked outside on a hill for 9-10 hrs. and still no water. i don't know about the other vented ones. i think ones like the 1st j's hood is cool, cuz the water just drops behind the radiator, it is those other ones you might have to worry about.
most of them have watter channels that channel the water away from the actual engine bay.... the j's one just falls right behind the radiator...
keep in mind.. some hoods dont' come with the water channels.. so you might have problems...

Think of driving your car top down when it's lightly raining. You may feel a drop or two but as your moving the air flow keeps you dry.
The vents in a Hood I would think are nominal.... unless you take a hose and aim it at the vents like at a car wash.....
Don't let the vents be an excuse to not buy the hood.

You guys understand that water will splash all over the place under your stock hood if you drive though a puddle in the road right... all this talk about vent possibly being bad because water can get in the engine bay is just down right stupid
