Horrible accident

Thanks girl & guys,
yes I was pretty shaken up, he could have taken me with him on the eternal journey. I'm alright now. I think he wanted to prove he could be faster. He wasn't wearing his seatbelts. At first I thought it was a young guy in his early 20's later I found out he was 45, and left a wife and a 14 yr girl.
His wife (according to police) wasn't extremely surprised. Apparently he was a real 'racer'. Police told me they were happy that it happened this way. They said it was often that the racer survived this type of situation killing the other.

I have my opinions as to why this particular demographic does this kind of thing but given the fatality I don't think this is the time to share them.
Yes,
it's quite sobering. I've had some slight guilt feelings. What if I had done this or that. Well ultimately it was his choice to do it. Though it's a steep price to pay.
Afterwards I was getting mad when I realized I could have been hurt (or worse) as well. Although I'm quite confident that the S2000 is an extremely more stronger car than his.
As regarding to to being sued. It's not common overhere so no I'm not afraid of that, I know it wasn't my fault. The only thing that can be a hassle is the insurance company. That's the main reason I hope there are witnesses coming forward.
Thanks again for the heartwarming replies and please watch out.

The guy should've been wearing a seat belt, at least he would've had a slight chance.
Is it compulsory to wear belts in the USA or other countries?
It is in Australia, yet I see idiots who have their children crawling around the car unrestrained.

I think I'm right in saying that there is as much reistance to compulsory seat belt legislation in the U.S. as there was in the U.K. a few years ago. Legislation was introduced here amid a storm of protest from most people, including me, who hated the whole idea.
Now, I wouldn't even think about driving without a seat belt and the little tug which you feel around your shoulders under firm braking as the pre tensioners do their job is very reassuring. Most people here now feel the same way I think.

OMG i can't believe that....i always hear horror stories about driving in europe since a lot of my fam still lives in portugal.
the best thing is you're alright...feel bad for the other guy but you can't feel too bad when he had it coming driving like that. he risked both his life and yours

Glad you're ok!
What was that guy thinking? Tired of life?
Drivers in The Netherlands are quite agressive, tailgaiting is very common.
Whenever I'm driving in Germany I'm very cautious when I want to overtake Dutch drivers, they might change into my lane without even looking (very common in NL also).
Secondly Dutch drivers tend to drive 110 km/h all the time on highways, regardless of the speed limits.
Now imagine when you're driving 220+ km/h
I think everyone in The Netherlands knows what I'm talking about. Luckily there are still a lot of good drivers around in The Netherlands, but a lot of them seem to drive with a death wish or something.
