Sometimes I butcher the English language with intent. I'm just trying to keep up with recent high school and college grads.

Sometimes I butcher the English language without knowledge. I am after all a Texas redneck with engineering degrees. Whut cud be werse?

But sometimes I read one of my own posts and say: "Wait a darned minute. I may be illiterate, but I ain't that illiterate."

It is very difficult to proof one's own writing. I usually see what I meant to write, not what I actually wrote. An unobtrusive spell checker, if there is such an animal, would be nice.
