It's my first year of ownership, but as long as the top's already down and it's not raining or snowing, I'm game for any temp.

Here's where I was this weekend:

I think there is a time when it gets simply TOO cold to drive top down. Not only do you freeze your a$$ off but it can get damn near unsafe.

My biggest issue is the back of my neck. I always wear a hooded sweatshirt and gloves when it's cold and it works like a charm.

Did the manual say to not operate the top below certain temp (since that's when the vinyl gets hard and flaky?)

First let me say this is a great poll since I've always wondered if I was the only hardcore crazy guy but I guess not.

I totally agree that top down in the cold is easy compared to top down in hot weather. At some point I have to put the top up in hot weather if the sun is baking down on me but cold weather is fine with me as long as no rain.

Of course I live in CA so the cold weather rarely drops below 50 degrees except maybe at night in which case a beanie and heavy sweater is all I need.

I do envy some of you living in the colder climates that you can drive top down in sub 40 degree weather. I moved from Chicago but back then never had a convertible so can't speak from experience how that feels but sounds like fun!

For me top is alway down unless raining or too hot (over 90+)

Yes, there is a certain temperature, but it isn't set instone. It depends on many factors such as wind chill, humidity, etc. Basically, I would be concerned anywhere near 45 degrees. Then again, I have an '02, so I don't need to worry about a plastic window, hehe.
