Default How come show car run with DC header SS

I have been noticing that DC header has been used in show cars. Clearly money is not that much of an issue when almost all of them have a Comptech or Vortech super charger. It makes me wonder why DC header is so bad. Or maybe it just for show and they want more bling bling in there engine bay. Just wondering because I have seen at least 6 cars in Super Street, Modifed Mag, and various other that I occasionally flip through when I'm at the book store.

At least for the S, the DC header has shown little to no gains.

It supposedly smooths out the curve, but I haven't seen any clear evidence of that. Plus a SS Header by DC looks a lot better than the rusty looking OEM

Looks and their willingness to make the parts available on a free or accomodation price basis would be my guess.

By the way, I just saved a bundle on my car insurance.

i am running DC sports SS header. since i am not after huge power gain, having a better looking header and weight saving is good enough for me for the money i spend on it (less than 1/3 of a mugen). as long as its not losing power, i'm fine with it.

if you want hp gain, save up and go with something else.

No knock from me on that - looks are fine.

Did I mention that I just saved a bundle on my life insurance?

the problem is i remember seeing three different dyno charts on here that showed a power loss. why pay money for something to take away power? that just makes no sence to me. i would rather have the rusty oem then loose power

can you dig up the 3 dynos?

were DC header the only mod and with baseline runs?

i read about about some intake and exhause rob power too, with those got something to do with it?

I have had a stainless steel DC header for about two years. It was new at the time and DC Sports posted their own dyno showing significant gains. However, some astute members on this board noticed that their were problems with this dyno and it probably wasn't real. I think that there were two other dynos at that time, one showing about a 3 hp gain while the other showed no gain at all. Since then several members have purchased the DC Header and have felt that there was some mid-range improvement. I don't remember anyone ever having lost power with this header but I might be wrong. I am happy with mine, felt some improvement, but nothing verifiable. I had mine coated by Jet-Hot because the heat shield on the stock manifold is removed.
