Well some additional light research is making this look like a simple swap. The USDM 01-03 and 04-05's share the same dash harness. The plugs would theoretically be the same for the cluster based on this...as well as the pin outs. I am willing to be the guinea pig and try this. Time to contact some of the JDM sellers to see what I can find.

Side note...since the mileage is tracked electronically wouldn't the ECU hold the data and not the cluster? Any one know the answer to that? Never been a big fan of cluster swaps due to this and unlike other hondas you can't just swap gauges on this setup.

Side note duce...It seems like I read somewhere that the JDM cluster does NOT have the ability to swap KMH for MPH like the euro and usdm clusters can. Looking to do more research on this but I will be pretty busy until next week to really dig any further on this.
thanks KC! you're making some good points about milage/kph and so on. i am also trying to find a supplier for this but am having no luck. i know a local guy(shady as hell) that "knows" some dude in Japan and he gets a container a month with all kinda ULTRA rare JDM stuff.

i.e JDM prelude seats/front clips for just about every car you can think of, and of course whole cars. he has a mits FTO!!!

I checked this out when they first came out. The only kick is that they don't have the MPH/KPH button to switch them.

I've got someone overseas keeping a lookout for a wrecked AP2 so I can get the 9k redline at least and go from there. Maybe an electronics wizard (modifry?) can figure out a MPH switch.......

I drive around with the KpH setting sometimes. Makes me feel faster!
speaking of drving with KPH on....

when i test drive the s2 that i later bought it was left in KPH and i never noticed. i turned down an empty street and blasted through a couple gears, imagine my horror when i looked down and saw i was doing 156!

Nice idea, and good question. Yes, I would imagine the big question is whether the electronic inputs are the same, and whether the harness is identical... Doubtful.
Even if the harness is different, it would still work. You can just cut the wires, and splice them back. The question is, physical fitment.
