How do you drive your S2000

Shift at 3K around town, 5-6k when I want to have a bit more fun, and redline a few times a week
I still can't get over all these rules you guys set on yourselves and your cars. I drive it. end of story. If in traffic, I drive lighter. back roads, more aggressive, highway, like I'm on a highway. I have fun with it. VTEC range is part of driving the car as needed to get the specific job at hand done...so is driving gingerly.

... Go drive a Chrysler Sebring it you want to putz around everywhere. I for one enjoy the car but jesus it's a sports car! Have fun with it every once in a while! I'm not saying fly at every stoplight to stoplight... on ramps, open stretches, etc.... I normally shift around 4-5!
But I'm guilty of having fun with it on occasions!

This is a common topic, and I always get sucked in because it boggles my mind the way some of you people drive.
In traffic, I'll shift at 2K. Yes, you read that right. If I need more squirt, I might run it to 3.5K-4K. In the AP2, there is absolutely no need to ever rev it higher except for the sole purpose of having fun. If you're not on an open road, anything past 2-3K and you're just wasting gas for no reason. The car will pull from 1500 RPM in sixth, so why do you think you need 5000 RPM to get to the next stoplight?
Obviously if I'm on a backroad doing some "spirited" driving, the revs will rarely drop below 5K or so. But I've got an open road ahead of me, I'm having a blast, and I have a specific reason for choosing to rev that high.
But you guys driving around town shifting at 5K, please post your VINs so I know which cars not to buy if I ever need another S. There's just no reason to wind it out that far when there's plenty of power for in-town driving at less than 1/3 the RPMs.

That's pretty much the way I drive. Typically shifting between 2-3k. Car is light enough not to need more unless I need to haul or merge.
Of course on pleasure driving I dont think about where to shift, I just drive.
I happen to get great mileage and would love to keep the car until 150K when I'd like to then replace it on build it out for track. Either way I'd like it to be in decent shape in a little less then 100K from here.
I laughed about the vin's but good point.
