Default How do you park your S

I was curious to see how many of you park just using the parking brake vs those who park with the brake AND leave the car in gear.

In my garage I sometimes leave it in neutral with the P brake on. When I'm out I always leave it in gear w/ the P brake on.

the owner's manual emphasizes parking in gear (1st when facing uphill, reverse when facing downhill). matt, nice choice in color by the way.

Thanx ganstahype. Seems a lot of people are getting Suzuka lately...which sucks for me. So much for exclusivity. The dealers were saying not alot of people liked the silver/red so they are opting for everything else. I have come to like silver/red but too many people have silver.

ALWAYS in gear. Emergency brake always on unless I just washed the car.

I was always told to use the shortest gear regardless of which way you're facing on a hill...in the S2000 that is 1st gear.

Right after a track session or heavy brake use, you're not supposed to use the parking brake.

Cars have been known to roll down driveways when only using the parking brake. The brakes cool down, & away she goes.

No brainer. Brake on and in gear!!!!! Always. Without fail.

I too had an experience. Brake on but in neutral (not an S2000 though). Rolled backwards and stopped short of doing serious damage to a house and my car by 2 inches! Always in gear and with brake on. Since then, never a problem.
