Just curious as to how carfax gets the car's milage if it's never been in an accident. I mean, does it show up with state yearly smog inspection or when u bring it in the dealership for maintenance services? Just curious.

 

i believe so , each time you take it to dealer they log it and is reported , i belive its the same if you take it to get a smog , get it towed , oil change...etc.. miles are recorded and its all reported .

 

Inspection records mileage + carfax "estimates" based on how old the car is vs how many miles it has at each inspection..
