How far do you usually go?
I do adore how we've bought a japanese car, that's built for a country using the metric system and we all quote 2.5 gallons as the petrol light 'on' quantity.
I'll be the first to admit i care more about how many miles per gallon the car does than miles per litre, but in a world where petrol is sold in litres and fuel rates are all done per the metric system, it seems pretty funny that we discuss the topic in the way we do.

I was on I-5 in CA when the fuel light turned on. There were no exits for 10s of miles, so I tailgated a truck so that it blocked my headwind. I thought that was a good idea at that time because it really helped with mpg until I got to a gas station 30 minutes later,
I also turned off the AC and rolled down the window (remembering the show on Mythbuster concerning better gas mileage if the AC is turned off vs. wind resistance). The truck block a significant portion of the wind resistance anyways.
