Zero tolerance myself. I usually will park at the end of a parking lot near a curb or even take two spaces if they are narrow. As long as you are away from everyone you should be fine, unless you are parking on an incline on a windy day, then you risk a loose shopping cart going for a bowling tournament
Best thing to do is look up a paintless dent repair guy (dent pro, dent king). Maybe ask the dealership who they use to remove dings. This shouldnt cost more than 80 bucks a dent and it will be repaired right on the spot, right before your eyes

Depending on where you live - check your local community forum here and see if they have a "dent day". The SoCal forum has one or two a year and it gets pretty cheap: $50 per panel up to 3 dents.

And it's true watching the dent guy do his work is amazing. We have an excellent PDR guy in the SoCal area.

wtf!!! out of all the possible spots in the world... but no dent from it, though

im considering taking care of this dent.. dont know how much $$
If you are careful, you can avoid door dings. If I'm going someplace where I don't know what the parking situation is I take my wife's car or my truck.

I have also have ZERO tolerance for door dings.

Scariest thing in the world is having someone with a '70s full size two door american car with 5 ft wide doors that weigh 350 pounds park next to you. Especially if the passenger is a snot nosed 10 year old who is going to open the door as hard as he can.

I have ZERO tolerance too. Luckily for me, I know an excellent dent guy who only charges wholesale rates so as soon as I get them, they are fixed.

Pretty much zero.

Here in Vancouver, people as a whole seem to be pretty considerate of other people's cars - my '93 Prelude has a total of three door-dings on it, all minor ones.

It doesn't matter if you always try to park in BFE, the one time you don't is when you get the ding (that's what happened to me, one of the few times I parked next to someone.) Argh!

I've kept a lot of cars dent-free.

My S
My 91 300zxTT
My 01 M3
My 85 Xr4 ti (Mercur)

Your are right though, unless you are very anal about where you park, some idiot will ding your car, not realizing or not caring that they just did $100 damage to your car......The amount to your ego - priceless.
