How to keep the cat off the roof
So I just got a Scat mat to put on top of my S. When the manual tells me to test it myself with a low setting, on my hand. JESUS CHRIST! It shocked me and I jumped and screamed like a little girl, even with the lowest setting. Problem is, I'm terrified of electricity, any kind of electricity.
Well, it's been 2 nights and it seems to work very well. I haven't seen my cat anywhere near the car.
However, here's the twister, I'm probably more afraid of that sucker than my cat is.
But as long as it works, right?
How long should I keep using it so the cat would be permanently afraid of getting on the car? Next, I'll use it on my stairways to keep my puppy from climbing up. I have a feeling it'll work just as well. But I'm really afraid of that sucker (the mat).

Had that problem a few years ago. Made a big mistake. Saw the cat on my roof (hardtop car) thought I would be smart and trigger the alarm by remote and scare him off the roof so that he would associate a loud piercing noise with the car and stay off of it. Well I did and he jumped about 3 feet in the air came down and did one of thoses running in place things like they do in cartoons...clawed the **%^ out of my roof. Had to buff it out. Handle the situation carefully. I reacted a little to soon I think. The good news is he never sat on my roof again...he would just piss on my tires...

I assume it was a squirrel. Bastards.
