Default How to launch

To be honest i dont how to launch the S, how do you actually do it?

Also with 4.57 gears am i going to be faster than a standard S from say a 2nd gear roll, but as same speed say 35mph?

cheers

You have to vary launching depending on conditions (i.e. temperature, humidity), but a general good launch will be rev to 6k RPMs, drop the clutch so the tires break loose and you don't hurt your clutch, then you just control traction with the gas. You want to let the tires spin a little to keep you from bogging. If done right, you'll burn out for a little bit, and when you catch traction you'll be above 6k RPMs, right in your powerband.

And I'm pretty sure with 4.57s you'll be faster than a standard-geared S2000 in every situation.

are the stock differentials not strong enough to handle launching? if this is the case then what kind of diff would be recommended?

The stock differential is fine for launching.

Dry conditions:
1. Clutch in.
2. Rev to 6000RPM.
3. Dump clutch.
4. Repeat.

people blow the stock diff from not breaking the tires loose. if you launch lower and bog out of the hole that's more stressful on the driveline.
