How long do you plan on keeping your S2000?
until i get another S2000 (once upgrades are signifcant enough, like a few model years into an improved engine) or until i get a nsx. but even if i get those, i'd be tempted to keep the current one. nothing like a little sibling rivalry!
I would like to keep it at least a year. I have NEVER had a car for more than 8 months my entire life. i seriously think i have a problem. For example, a '95 cobra (6 months), '94 300zxtt stage 3 (4 months), '95 M3 (4 months), '00 3.2 TL (3 months), '96 corvette Grand Sport (8 months), and the list goes on and on.... i guess i just get bored with cars too quickly, but i guess if you only live once, you might as well try 'em all. i LOVE the s2k thus far, and im getting close to the magic 600 miles! peace
Only a very, very special car could make me consider getting rid of the S. Right now, frankly the only cars that appeal to me more than the S are Ferraris. What other car offers anywhere near the fun and performance of the S for anywhere near the price? Z06? Maybe, but even that car's still in the same "ballpark" performance-wise (my lap times at Sears Point last weekend were within a few seconds); plus I don't wanna deal with GM's (in)famous reliability. M3? Better, but still a pretty big car, and a bit too expensive. Heck, at $120K even the Porsche Turbo is "only" about as fast as a Z06, so no one can claim it's a performance bargain.
IMHO, of all production cars available, only a Ferrari 360 and 550 have the ability to *significantly* exceed the S2000 in terms of their combination of overall performance, styling beauty, engine and suspension technology, and raw single-minded purposefulness. Too bad they cost as much as a house.
