Full coverage for males under 25 is crazy in general.
Indeed.. I got a quote for an 07 and its less than 100 dollars more than I pay to insure my00. The 07's only worth 2 to 3 times as much..

A let down that a younger person has the same car as you? Oh get over it guys. No offense but I just hate it when people compare themselves and their own life to others. There's kids out there luckier than you, so what? I don't see a reason to get butthurt about it and complain that they don't deserve it. If a person is a bad driver he does not deserve a s2000, because he's going to end up crashing it. But age has NOTHING to do with anything.
You make me laugh. You seem to 'act' like you know what your talking about. I dont think you do. It's not that I hate every kid driving around in an S2k, more power to them. They are more blessed than me than when I was thier age. Oh, and speaking of age....you just said, age has NOTHING to do with it!?! You cant be serious, or are you?....I would say about 98% of 'teenagers', are still in the process of 'growing up'. Please do not tell me that age has nothing to do with it. I thank my mom so much for raising me so well, and supporting us as a single parent....but...I remember how I thought, and cared for things. I wasnt a punk in any way....but I sure was a teenager.

Until someone gets on thier own...and has to start building credit, get a home, figure out a career, they are not grown-up, and age has EVERYTHING to do with it at this point.

And before any of you kids get upset, I know there are plenty of 20 something year olds that are childish, that have nevery grown up. Still live at home, and have no motivation to get through life, or be successful. Its sad.

This thread ended up like some war between older ppl and teens.
Wasn't conclusion made by someone already earlier in the post?
If ur a youngster and driving an S, be thankful for what your parents did and try your best paying some bills while keeping your grades high.

Well, my point was that keeping high grades should be the highest concern for students. Not saying there's no way to pay for your own S when you're in HS (though I believe to be very unlikely), but it's definitely not worth sacrificing grades by working many hours just to afford an S.

Two scenarios in average family and rich family I often observe:

Average family:
1. Kid works real hard to buy a sportscar but end up sacrificing his grades. (You know the burden of having to pay all the bills for a car like s2k when you're in HS. I seriously think it's very impossible to completely afford an s2k while maintaining grades high, unless you're some serious quick-learner)
2. Kid gives up his sportscar for the moment and study hard and occasionally work to save up money. Buy s2k later.

Rich family:
1. Kid gets spoiled and fail to appreciate things he receives. Get a sportscar and not even bothering to study cuz there's plenty of money for him to live off his parents. Showing off his car and failing college, or is not even able to get in one.
2. Rich family but parents are very harsh in terms of education. Kid does get sportscar as a reward of keeping up real high grades. He doesn't need to really work but concentrate full-time on his academics.

You're just taking this way out of proportion for one thing, and it's not even relevant.

I don't know about your time, but nowadays teenagers don't laugh their asses off when driving and hit trees left and right. Tell me, how does how grown up a person is contribute to their ability to drive safely? Lol, some teenagers might not be fully through puberty, but it doesn't mean they can't think clearly when they drive. I admit there's plenty of immature 17 year olds out there, but I'd say a good majority of them know how to drive safely. Now the issue you propose just falls on the fact that you think younger people can't handle a s2000, therefore they do not deserve it. Sure they might not be as "grown up" as you are, in whatever terms you may like to say, but it doesn't mean they don't deserve to drive a nice car.

I'm not denying the fact that many teenagers have not fully grown up, but once again, that's not the main point of discussion. You have built a credit, bought a home, got a career, congratz. What I fail to realize is where you made the connection. If you want to write an essay about how immature teenagers are these days maybe you should start a new topic in a different forum.

And before any of you kids get upset, I know there are plenty of 20 something year olds that are childish, that have nevery grown up. Still live at home, and have no motivation to get through life, or be successful. Its sad.
This and s2000? Connection? How?...

I also find it funny how such a "grown up" person like yourself cannot spell or use apostrophes correctly.

So what's your point?

I think your lost. I wasnt bragging or going on about myself. I was just stating that it is FACT that a younger person does not have as much knowledge as an older person. I'm not the smartest person in the world, I'm only 24, and have many years ahead of me to learn and grow.

Oh, and thanks for pointing out my spelling, that really does reflect my maturity.

a well obvious fact that plays no pertinence here.

why are some of us concerned with what others have? why pass judgement on a 10, 20, 40, or 80 year old?

enjoy your own damn car

That isn't so true. Being knowledgeable and wise/experienced are two different things.
