Default How often do you change your oil?

I change my Mobil1 every 3k miles, it comes out perfectly clean... I've also noticed a lot of people here changing it every 6k, am I throwing money away here? I'm doing this to be safe but I could always use the savings, the oil looks like new when it drains out.

Don't high performance engines that use synthetic get changed every 10-15k miles? If not, please correct me immediately haha

You are wasting your money if you changing it every 3,000 miles. If you are using a synthetic oil every 6,000 miles is best. Also try using a new oil. Mobil has gone down the drain in the last few years different formulation. The only certain way to know if your oil needs to be changed is for your oil to be analyzed.

some cars can last up to 7K between oil changes. This can be because of the larger oil capacity. M3 holds about 7 quarts of oil for a 3L. The FC20 holds a bit over 5 quarts for a 2L.

I intend to change mines every 5K
