I'm another money-thrower-away-er. I change every 3k with oil and filter. I do it myself. Takes 20 minutes, costs about $22 +/-

Done it a few times even at 6,000 miles oil was still good.

I generally change my oil around 4,000 miles, if im lazy around 5. I flush the oil every time and what not so im not very worried plus i check it very often.

thank you for further my point. Everyones OCI is different, depending on so many factors. Hell, your oil could be fine at 10k if you are using a good oil and driving like a granny.
