How often do you redline?

just do a 2nd to 3rd gear pull going up an on ramp! plenty of room to get it up to redline!

Hit 8.5-8.9k often everyday, rarely hitting limiter at 9k. This car loves being revved. regularly shift between 3-5k..

Every day - every time I get a chance. MPG's are not a consideration...

If you aren’t banging off the rev limiter, how else would you know you have reached max hp potential
max hp and tq doesn't occur at red line or rev limiter rpm

Max hp does on my car (flat torque line from 7.5k+) and Junky is supercharged, so his max torque AND power is at redline.

I drive my car probably 6 days out of the week, probably hit the 9k on 4-5 of those days, theres a particular on ramp coming home from work that I like to go balls to the wall in 3rd gear, sometimes a little bit in 4th as well.

C'mon . . . Honda made VTEC for a reason. It's a blast !

No.1, you're not going to hurt the car and No.2, you don't buy an S to save money on your gas bill. Buy a Prius if that's the case.

I will admit however that when I bought my first S I was unfamiliar with Honda's VTEC system and a little afraid to red line it. Ah, but once you experience it there's no turning back ! The Sound, the sound !!!

I usually shift right at the redline probably once a day. Sometimes I won't VTEC for a week. I have hit the rev limiter a handful of times. I was Leary at first but I figured Honda put it there as a safety measure so hitting is not causing that much damage.
