If you do change out the factory oil soon, you would be very wise to use a moly add-in so your engine can continue to break in properly.
I replaced my 02 S2K with an 04 a couple of months ago. The new one only had 4200 miles on it at the time, but the previous owner put synthetic in around 3500. I now have just over 6K miles and the synth is still in.

I was going to get an oil change (back to dino) and use some Mr. Moly, so I ordered their "Oil Supplement", but on the can it says to use Mr. Moly "break-in" during the manufacturer's break-in period (which is 600 miles?) Is there substantial difference between the two that would matter at this point, or can I just use their regular supplement?

don't confuse the manufacturer break-in period for the oil break in period (for lack of a better term)

since you already have over 6000 miles there's probably not much you can do.

But I should probably replace the synth with dino up to 10K or so?

So to get this right, I should keep the factory oil in for over 3000 miles (the normal interval at which I change the oil). As far as breaking the motor in, I should drive easy with some full throttle below VTEC runs to help seat the rings followed by cool down runs? Also, a point in the future my car will retire from the street and become a track only car. Not sure if that affects the way I break the car in. Obviously I want a strong healthy motor.

Highrpmek - If you are talking about the break-in suggestions I got from the Chrysler engineer, then yes that's what he believed in. You don't want to do the full throttle runs from a low gear. Do them in 3rd, or if conditions allow 4th gear. You want the engine to feel "loaded", almost bogged. But don't lug the engine too much because that's hard on the bearings (i.e. don't start below 2,000 RPM, and don't do it from 6th gear). 3rd gear from 2,000 - 4,000 RPM is probably a good place to start.
