Default How to remove the door/key chime????

In my old acura there was a plug to pull, in my miata there was a wire to remove, in my volvo there is a fuse to pull...in the S there is so much stuff and so little room under the dash I just am stumped!

Anyone has success in removing this little reminder that the key is in the ignition and the door is open...duh?

I believe '04 is the first year they added this feature so this is a new issue.

yeah wing, you are right, every car has this feature, it is kinda like a safety type of thing, incase you forgot to take your keys out, so you might not lock yourself out of your car...

Is there a way to turn this "ding-ding" off?

I cannot say with absolute certainty as this hasn't bugged me enough to really look into it. There is a RED/WHT (NOT WHT/RED) that comes from the ignition switch that tells the ECU that the key is inserted. As far as the wiring diagram says, this is all this wire does. It completes a ground when the key is in. If you could find this wire and cut it (or put a on/off switch to it), you "might" deactivate the key-in beeper when the door opens and NOT affect the other two systems that uses the same beeper.
Perhaps someone can PM modifry to ask if he knows where to locate this wire and whether or not it will do the job to cut it.
