How to remove the door/key chime????

3+ years that stupid chime has bugged the hell out of me.
The actual tone generator does seem to be buried. Removing the ECU fuse works, but I don't want to go that route.
Clipping the red/white wire is the first new suggestion I've heard. Wonder what other functions it might affect? Could even be critical functions like the immobilizer...

Just unplug the the door pin that activates the chime. If you
don't mind loosing the dome light when you open the door.
You can still turn on the dome light if you need it.
I did this on another car, but not sure if this will make the
door ajar light stay on for our car. I have been meaning to
try this. Has anyone else?
