I heard that at 9000rpm and flashing, you can shift without using clutch.

run it to redline and shift as fast as u can. wash, rinse, repeat. Some people lift off the gas entirely when they change gears, some only a little, and some keep the pedal to the floor during a shift. I do the slight lift, it works well for me.

I'll remember you next time you come into UTH asking why your car doesn't work.

An optimum rpm for upshift occurs at some point beyond the rpm at which peak power occurs, i.e., beyond 8300 rpm for 2003 and older models. You would shift from 2nd to 3rd, for example, when the power level you are attaining in 2nd has dropped below the power level you would get at the same vehicle speed in 3rd. Since power output suddenly drops like a rock as the limiter cuts in just past 9000 rpm, you would want to shift just a millisecond before that point; let's call it 9000 rpm. You would then hit 3rd gear at about 6500, solidly up into VTEC territory.
And, hey let us show some politeness towards XViper and several other fine contributors from that neighbor nation to our North. Their dollar looks unusual, what with a picture of the Queen. And, because it is valued at only $.75, they may get a bit confused and write 6750 rpm when they really mean 9000.
