Default how to ship airbags?

Do i bother telling the UPS guy that they are airbags or do I just ship them? I called the post office and the beat around the bush saying they needed to know exactly what the propellant was.? How the hell would I know?

thanks

well they are considered explosive devices so not telling could get you in trouble if something happens.

I am going to ship them via truck from my work. I told the shipping lady all about them, so hopefully it is all ok.

You may want to call any car dealer to find out if they are concidered a dangerous goods for shipment. I know they are if they go via air freight, but they may also be dangerous if shipped on a truck. You wouldn't want to be the cause of an accident, would you?

My thinking is that I ship them via truck (I will make sure it is truck and not air), and just let them go as they are. It is not like they can really even blow up unless the entire truck caught on fire or something.? Think about how hot your car can get sometimes just parked in the sun......140F

I was a certified shipper of dangerous goods and hazardous materials for 16 years and found that a lot of shippers break the law by shipping such items illegally. We even had some of our sales people try to get past these regulations by putting them in their carry-ons (pre 9-11). I told them that they couldn't do that. Do you have a shipper that is certified in shipping dangerous goods?
