Default How well does the S2000 accelerate?

Ok so I have ordered the 06 S2000 with VSA in Berlina Black........

Ive test driven the 05, but unfortunately for me it was is traffic!

I have been taken for a spin in the 01 S2000...........

What I want to know is this........how exactly can you describe the acceleration of the S2K? I mean do you get thrown back in your seat!?

I have driven the 350Z and the acceleration is nice.............but u dont get thrown back in your seat. Its the kind of acceleration that is constant throughout. I know the 3.5 V6 is the reason for this.........but u dont actually feel like u accelerating quikly even tho, you know you are!

With the S2 I like the feeling that you know the power and surge is coming.........its kind of the expectation as you accelerate that all hell is about to break loose when u hit 6,000 rpm.

I like the feeling of being pushed back in your seat.........shall i expect this?!

best way to describe it is: AP2 is quick, but not exactly fast. VTEC is also not as dramatic as AP1, I felt a lil bump of quickness but nothing that really pushes you back into your seat. To get anything really exciting out of the car, you'd have downshift into VTEC... and that is something that needs a lil practice so you don't overrev...etc
i'm way more amazed at the handling and braking of the car than its acceleration. if handling and braking are both 10 out of 10 on this car, acceleration would only be about a 6.5

Thats odd, contrasts directly to my experience with the 350z. When I drove the 350Z it did have that 'thrown back into your seat' feeling? Its quite torquey, and "feels" alot faster than the s2000 even though it isn't. The s2000 is more of a gradual build-up until VTEC, which gives you a real rush, but won't really throw you back into the seat per se.

I've only really had that "thrown back in my seat" from two cars...
My friends modded 04 Cobra, and his dads 02 911tt, and both of those cars have just gobs of torque. Even my wife's transam didn't do it so much..... hrrrm...
Definately not the S2K.... no torque

Owning a MY05 Berlina with the F20C2 engine, I must say that the kick from 6000 till 9000 is quite impressive in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. So yeah, when entering VTEC, the acceleration is quite more dramatic, combine this with the F1 scream of the engine and you get your adrenaline pumping

It feels faster then a 350Z from 6000 rpm and is absolutely not linear or constant. You will not get thrown in your seat as hard as with a Corvette or 911, but you will nevertheless have to use your neck-muscles to keep the head upright when hitting VTEC

All cars accelerate at more or less the same rate (if you drive them off a cliff)

wouldn't it be different with an 06 because of the newly added DBW and VGS?
