You shouldn't have to pay a deductible. Almost all insurance company's offer glass insurance seperatly for like an extra $1 or two a month and that means you get any piece of glass replaced on the car for free at any time. No deductible...I mean come on. Even going by a low deductible of $200 it wouldn't make sense because glass isn't much more than that anyway. So what good would glass insurance be if you still had to pay it!

The way my insurance works (State Farm) is that it is free if they can repair, or the cost of your deductible to replace it. For me, that's $100. Getting it done tomorrow. I wanted it replaced no matter if they could fix it or not, my windshield was a mess. And I also requested it not to be OEM and it isn't. Might as well see if someone else's glass works a little better and can take a little more abuse.

I agree with most of them. Your insurance should take care of this for free.

Check with your insurance agent first before getting it fixed.

~$450 can buy a lot of other mods.

Goodluck and I'll see you later.

My comprehensive is $500 deductible but $0 deductible for glass. That includes mirrors and headlights by the way.

I have yet to run into a glass replacement company who did not waive the deductible as long as it is $100 or less. As such, I have never paid a dime for windshield replacement including one S2K glass replacement.

That's exactly what it was. I told them "fixing" it was not an option.

http://www.statefarm.com/claims/shldrepr.htm

doesn't tell me much. mine isn't in the 'acute' area - its a HUGE split winding through my passgener's view actually.

state farm is my insurance - but to my knowledge, they will only pay for chip repairs, and windshields will be repaired, minus the deductable. anyone know differently?
