Default I cannot take the seatbelt anymore!

I think I'd rather just die than wear this seatbelt a minute longer! Okay, maybe not. However, I cannot take the squeaking sound of the seatbelt fabric rubbing against the seat seam anymore. With the top down you cannot hear this. However, when the top is up, it's unbearable. I am forced to do things to the seatbelt that probably lessen or eliminate its protection abilities. Perhaps the shoulder of a taller person (I'm 5'8") lifts the material off the seat enough to not have this problem? Has anyone found a good way to eliminate this squeak (sans turning the radio up---which sound is worse?).

Thanks.

There's a very simple solution for eliminating this annoying noise. Get a piece of black felt, cut out a 2" x 2" piece, and stuff one edge under the plastic seat belt guide so that it's aligned between the seat belt and the seat surface. The noise will be gone.

Don't use it then, always feel like it's choking or something ... I rarely use the seatbelts when I have the hardtop on ... The drivers around here are slow like turtles anyway.

I tried Rick's suggestion this evening and I believe it will work great. I loosened the seatbelt plastic guide that is attached to the seat via two screws. Ran some black felt under it with just enough sticking out to cover the seat seam. Tighten the whole thing down and it's done. I have not yet had the chance to test it, however, it is clear that the fabric of the seatbelt will not be in contact with the seat material and thus should not squeak. The black felt is hardly noticeable unless you are really looking. This solution was so easy that I probably should have figured it out myself! Thanks again, Rick!

Did it work? What keep the felt laying across the seat (and not getting pushed back)?

Well maybe it didn't work, and he was forced to sell the car (then he would no longer be complaining about it).

Sorry to bring this old thread back to life, but it's better than starting a brand new one on the same subject. I'm just looking for a fix (and yes I tried doing a search first).
