I can't believe the lack of respect people have for nice cars

One thing that bothers me about my car is that it has the power to make me mad if it gets scratched or somehow minorly damaged. It's like a freakin magnet.
I try to remember that it's just a turd car and a possession. If I let my possessions possess me, then I've lost something and that's bullshit.
Forget it man. It's just a car.

Just write him a polite note.
"Please don't park so close to my car in future. My car is very important to me and I like to keep it in good condition. Please be more considerate of others in future".
Might take you a while and I suggest you use one of your old keys.

As funny as all the suggestions are... try to take this in a civilized manner. By lowering yourself to the prick level this guy obviously is at, you are only opening up yourself to future instances where you won't have cold hard proof it was him. Save yourself and your car the future trouble you could subject yourself too.
I was subjected to a hit and run a couple months ago in my apartment lot, and yes I was VERY furious. But I realized there is absolutely nothing I could have done about it. Sh*t happens....

A bird has shit in my car three times (top down, but I wasn't even under a tree), causing a permanent discoloration on my passenger seat, but you don't see me on a crazed rampage to rid the planet of birds.

The issue isn't people's lack of respect for "nice cars". It's their general lack of respect for other people's personal property.
I remember once, sitting in my RX-7 when I was still in college, waiting for something or other. A woman pulls up next to me and promptly open her door into my car. I asked her to please not do that, and she has the balls to look at me like somehow I'm in the wrong.
I confess, I keyed her car after she walked away. I was young and stupid. But the fact that I asked her first to stop was go-ahead enough for me at the time.

One thing youhave to realise is that these expressions of aggression should only be considered venting and not to be taken seriously.
You can't change people. Even if you could convince this guy to have more consideration there is a huge queue of morons (or people with other priorities) out there just itching to jump in his place. You can't beat 'em all and youcan wear yourself out trying.
