5600 miles NO PROBLEMS. I am very critical of cars, even my wife's 2000 Acura 3.2 TL has had some small noises that 99.9% of the population would not notice. I had to get them fixed.

It is truly a great car!

Welcome, Chipster!

I got my car in March and have been very happy with it. I do have a slight clutch rattle, but I am going to wait and see if it gets worse or better. I hoped that the car would be as good as the reviews, and it has been.

Great choice on the VFR. My 1990 VFR is the perfect bike for me. While I don't race it, it is more than fast enough for me and will hold it's own against most bikes. It's comfortable enough to ride for 300 miles a day with a passenger, and has one of the sweetest motors ever produced. There are bikes that can out accelerate it, out brake it, and out corner it, but for an all around bike, it's hard to beat - that's why I haven't replaced it with a newer bike.

Chipster,
I've had my s2000 just over a year, daily driver, 7500mi. Still don't like the stereo speakers, but that can be easily remedied. Had the 1-2 grind 2 or 3 times, not in many months. Rear window isn't a big deal to me. Uses more oil than I expected (1qt per 2000mi currently, possibly decreasing). Car wheels stolen- just not used to having a "target". It has my unreserved seal of approval for someone looking for a conv. sports car in the true sense of the term.

Hey folks thanks for your input! I gotta say that there is a lot to be said for owning a S2K, but the prospect of a #4 failure is a blow that would kill me. I guess I am , perhaps too anal for my own mental good. Come on guys, if you were a victim of the dreaded rattle it's got to effect your view of this car. My hope is that in the next six months as the 02's start to enter the picture there will be less talk about the #4 problem and other drivetrain issues. I still wonder if these issues are greatly driver induced?
VAS2K thanks again for the ride! I forgot to ask you if you had the paint problem around the bumper(s). TXST, yes the VFR is a great ride. After 2 years I still am not sure about the linked brakes on my bike. Seems that there are a few owners of this bike that post here, and I would be interested in their views of linked braking this bike offers. I still prefer a separate brake system.

Sorry for this silly question, but what is a "tsb?" Thanks.

This car, like any true semi-race car, has it's quirks... I think most of the bad press on here comes from people who have been driving Accords for years, then they get a car with some quirks and it's the end of the world. Everyone should own a British sports car first, it'd allow them to appreciate what they have. My car starts fine, runs like a bat outta Hell, and beggs for more. The only thing it asks in return is that I keep good gas in it, put tires on it every 8,000 miles, and keep the oil topped off when it gets hungry...I'm happy.

idorego; Technical Service Bulletin. It's how auto makers transmit information about problem info. and safety issues. They are numbered and kept on file in the service dept.

I've had absolutely no problems, at least ones that I haven't created .

Rick; I have to say I am impressed with your S2K modification and interior upgrades. A few I've seen in person, while most of it has been viewed on this site. It would seem to me, that you have more experience with the "innards" of this car than most. I would love to hear your views (since you must have taken yours apart for your upgrade work) on how the car is put together.
