I Have a Dilema
I think the CR will be more valuable than the AP1. The original 426 Hemi was considered torqueless and peaky at the time it was available, making the 440 a much better choice. Now the engine is legendary. The CR may not be liked by enthusiasts today, but rare models become collectors.
I don't mean to seem snooty or anything but I do believe the CR will have more value over time than an ap1/ap2 obviously because it will be newer but because it's rare. I could be wrong, but I notice even now CR parts are a lot of money.
Moddiction, You are right I might as well use it for its strong point autox/track because it would be a waste to DD it thats why I want to do auto x. It seems pretty cheap and a great way to learn how to drive with little risk to hurting the car. However, while car shopping I was looking for a 370z but they only had silver and I wanted white or blue, also they weren't going to give me a lot for my car. I wanted a regular s2k but I came across the CR for a good price and they gave me great money for my Si I traded in. So it kind of fell into my lap haha
AP2 NAG, yeah I go to school full time and work part time delivering pizza. For the most part my job is laid back because the people I work with are cool but sometimes the customers are ASSHOLES and the job is semi-dangerous. I get mad very easy so it's a handful between that, school, and some other issues I have. I am only a 20 year old kid. YES I love with my mom and dad but before anyone says anything I am not ashamed of it. I pay for my car and everything by myself. I just save a lot of money because I'm a dork and I don't party, drink, smoke or go out. I just keep to myself and I love cars.
I enjoy my s2k man, I had a great time in the summer with it! The only thing I really feel like I'm missing is the top down aspect because I have the hard top and its not exactly easy to take on and off by myself haha

off topic: 24 hours of LeMons is NOT CHEAP. everyone thinks it's $500 and you're in when in reality it's $500 maximum value of the car you enter.
stuff that are required to race can and does send costs skyrocketing real fast. especially if you have little racing experience.
your $500 car is actually ends up costing you thousands just to get it race ready. wheels, tires, race seat, harness, FULL ROLL CAGE, fuel, replacement parts drains the bank real fast. then theres the driver safety equipment. helmet, nomex suit, fire supression system.
a few friends and myself were gonna enter a car in the october 2010 race but even with costs split even across 6 guys, it was estimated to cost each driver $1,500 even with contacts we have with fab shops and racing equipment stores.
on topic: iamtherealasif, just attend one or two autocrosses in your CR and go from there. if you don't like pushing your car that much then spirited back road driving is fine. the CR is an inanimate object. you're not gonna hurt it's feelings if you don't like competetive driving.
people who have never tracked will never understand that what they see on TV is worlds apart from racing on the club level. start autocrossing and you'll have a better grasp on what you want out of the car then what anyone on here can tell you.
