I have a question about feasibility
I'm married, with a three-month old baby. My wife's car is a CR-V, and I had been driving her old Civic up until two months ago, when it died. I now have an s2k, and couldn't be happier.
My other choice would have been an Acura RSX Type S, as I told my wife I wasn't buying an automatic no matter what, and I wanted something fun.
She was fine with the s2k though. She knows I've wanted a convertible for a long time.
My friend bought an '88 Supra when he got married, thinking he'd be able to use the back seat for the kids. He said it was such a hassle putting in car seats that he only did it once, so it was really a waste.

Possible? Yes. Sensible? No.
Here's the scenario that comes to mind for me. Your wife drives little one to day care on a Wednesday morning. She plans to pick little one up since she has the ONLY car in the family the little one can ride in safely. She gets hung up and can't get away when she planned. So she asks you to pick up little one.
You can't. You've got an S2000 which is not safe to carry children ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL!
Where are your priorities?
Keep your Accord Coupe. It is a better family car than the S2000 or the RSX-S. In a side impact, the Accord will protect the rear passengers (children) better than the RSX.
Get the S2000 when you know you won't need to carry a third person or a child or when you can afford a third car as a toy.
Would you get away with it? Yes. Safely? Probably not. Without putting unnecessary stress on your wife? I doubt it, unless she's crazy.
By the way, if I were to ignore this sensible advice and get the S2000 anyway, I'd trade the Corolla and keep the Accord Coupe. I'd much rather have my wife and child traveling in a 3300 lb car than a 2700 lb. I'd think that both a 2000 Accord and a 2003 Corolla would both be very reliable. Certainly my 1993 Prelude is very reliable.
My two cents.

If one (and many have) were to have a switch installed for such a purpose it takes away the owner's manual's complaint and I wouldnt consider an S2k any less safe than MANY other cars on the road today.

But heres my Question .. what is it with these guys and letting themselves get into a position where the wife literally controls them? I thank god my wife isnt like that but i see it alot with others. Seems like many women just want to yank away any sort of fun a guy could possibly have that doesnt involve them....
I work with a bunch of guys who deal with that crap EVERYDAY. They pull up in the Highlanders and Odyssey's. They walk around the office on thier cell-phones like umbilical cords tied to the wife. When I talk about my weekend jaunts in the S with my wife, I get the "sigh of surrender" from these poor wrung out soccer dads.
Get the S. I watched my dad totally sacrifice his 20s and 30s to raise a family. He is in his low 50s and is finally able to live a little.
He'd wants an S but "it's too hard on his bad back".
You only live once.
