I may not be worthy
I bought my S (sadly only 16 months ago) and was in love with it from day one. But recently, all I can focus on is the negative aspects of the car...the uncooperative 2nd and 3rd gear engagement, the on/off clutch, the rattling latches, the stiff ride, 210 miles to a tank and the ungodly road/tire noise on course road surfaces. I realize these are all trademarks of a small, great handling, fast..ok, quick roadster but I'm wondering to myself if it was the wrong choice for me. My last car was a G35 sedan. It was fast and comfy but too big, soft and unrefined. Maybe it's the typical Oregon weather that has me down but how have people managed to keep their cars for 8 years and still love them. I hope this feeling wears off.

'01 50k miles with zero transmission problems. Not a single rattle I didn't install myself and I beat the hell out of my car. I don't know about road noise because my 70mm has removed all my hearing.
Sorry you don't like it. Hit some twisties and you'll love it again.

I have a 2007 wih 11K and have the rattles and road noise but no trany issues. Bring it to the dealer.
everything else about the car is pretty much good though. take it in to the dealer for the transmission problem.
1. Transmission problem - I solved my by changing the transmission fluid using Honda new and improved mtf along with changing the differential fluid using royal purple 75w90.
2. Rattling latches - Solved mine by simply pull back on the open and close switch for one second when the top is secure. What I meant by this every time you close your top, secure it like you should but at the end when everything is secure pull the switch back toward the open position for one second so the top will pull back and give it a tight lock on that latches.
WARNING: You want just a quick click back to tighten the lock into the latches. DO NOT pull back on the switch for over 1.5 second.
3. 210 miles on a tank - Solved mine by.............ok wtf!!! Ever wonder why you're getting less than 20mpg per tank when most average at least 25mpg? Get your foot off the pedal. Its not what you drive its how you drive it. THIS IS ALL YOU! I drive my car hard now and then but still manage to get 22-25mpg so I think you must be hauling ass.
4. Road and tires noise - Its not always just the car. Road noise can be contributed by a number of factors. 1st, the kind of road/pavement you drive on. 2nd, the kind of tires you have on your car. 3rd, the amount of sound deadening your car has and this has a direct correlation to the kind of car you drive. Sports cars will generally have less than a luxury car.

The tranny issue is most noticeable when cold but even when warm, I can feel a little kickback in the lever when going into gear.
