1. Transmission problem - I solved my by changing the transmission fluid using Honda new and improved mtf along with changing the differential fluid using royal purple 75w90.
When did Honda start putting out "new and improved" transmission oil?

I cry when i read these MPGs post...

I get like 240 when I try my BEST.
200 on a normal driving.
amen dude. you cant say how many miles you get on a tankfull. straight highway i can stretch to almost 300. city, 200-230 at best. you need to divide miles driven by gallons pumped. thats the key number.

anywho, if you wanted super efficieny, get a prius. you bought an s2k for a fun car that you can attack stretches of road. rattles give it character. to clean up the tranny, change the fluid. i think in 08 the redid the fluid. once i switched to redline mtl the tranny shifts like butta.

This is the same with any car you own...little things will start to annoy you and worry you on it. Try driving a beater for a day or 2 and then go back to the S...it feels like a cadillac! Or better yet ride a motorcycle...the S will then feel smooth as silk!

For your reference, Plutonium lives diagonally across from me. I will also chime in and say that my 02 doesn't have any of these problems (MTF change, grease and better tires), you should definitely take it to the dealer. Also, you still have the Jeep? In that case, I would delegate the S to a weekend/good weather car like I do and I fall in love with it more I get seat time (as it is few and far in between). I have also participated in multiple autocrosses and many drives with the Upstate NY and now Oregon S2000 clubs, and would recommend these highly, as this is where you can really enjoy the car. The S was never meant to be a commuter car. It lives for curves. Also, everytime I get a little bored, I do some mods - tires, suspension etc. and enjoy it more.

I do about 180 to a tank of fuel( I drive it the way God intended) and pay WAY more than you guys, approx $6.50 a gallon, just thank your lucky stars.
Gearbox probs? hit the dealer, roof catch rattles? get the top down. or new striker plates from the dealer, warranty?
