I washed the car after two weeks of driving and the bugs have stained the white front bumper orange in several places. Any ideas on how to get this out? I have tried gasoline among other things to no avail. I have rewashed the area and put a couple of coats of finish first on until I figure out what to do. PLEASE HELP!

I would suggest the Simple Green bug and tar remover pads for about $2. They're like SOS pads, but non-abrasive. Very effective!

You might also try a citrus based cleaner. It won't hurt the paint (will strip the wax) but is strong enough to clean the engine.

You have to strip the wax first. Also try vinegar or a clay bar with lots of car wash as lubrication.

I had the same problem with my White 95 Eagle Talon TSI-AWD. It didn't take long for the yellow bug guts to stain the paint. Just wait til the red bug guts get in. I quickly purchased a bra to keep this from happening again. Unfortunately, you get scratches where the edges of the bra rub on your car. Take the bra off when it rains and check for dirt along the edges often.

Choose your evil!

Although I haven't had any real stubborn bugs on the S Car, my m/cycle does get severely "bugged". Had a sample of Bug-Be-Gone given to me. I think it works great.
