All that is stock, the seat is OEM as well. Do some research before posting.

Doesnt fit your color requirements, but check out this Rio CR for $24.9k.....Just for reference..Prices are getting reduced from those sky high prices. I'm checking almost daily. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...26124477&Log=0
Getting them down to $24k for a 42k mile CR, would be worth it to most potential owners. That NFR isn't in top condition to be commanding top $$$. Look at the headlights, for example.
Aside from the Carmax-specific issues and price point that people have already addressed, if you are really interested in this, will you be able to have a detailed inspection done on it?
When I bought mine it was sitting at a Ford dealership (yeah I know, someone traded in the S for a Ford
), I let them know I needed the car for a couple of days so that I could take it to my trusted S2K/NSX mechanic at the local Honda dealership to do a checkup as if they were to sell it CPO, plus some of the S2KI inspection tips and a look into the data from the OBD.
Not sure if Carmax would even allow something like this, but if this is the car you want, it's worth an ask.
I have also sold a vehicle to Carmax, and from the seller perspective it was a good transaction, and interesting to see their business model. They seem to price their buying & selling at a narrower range than dealer trade-in and dealer retail, and make it up on volume. I would sell to them again. Buying though, maybe not, unless I find a CR with a couple thousand miles on it. One other thing to look at is how long that S2K has been sitting in their inventory. I have been tracking my Acura RDX since I sold it to them. Initially they set it at full Acura dealer retail (really close to CPO), then proceeded to drop it $1K twice over the last two months. They also adjust pricing when there is movement in wholesale or book value, but with what I experienced as about a 2 week lag time. Although they have a "no-haggle" policy, you might want to arm yourself with this data to get them to budge.

Says they won't transfer the car anyway, so also add in the flight there, and the drive back, be prepared to eat the cost of a flight back if the car doesn't end up being what you want.
For reference, i recently bought an 06 with 24,002 miles all stock, flawless condition for $21,499 private party. I still don't think that was a great deal but it was my second color choice and I had been looking for a long time for the right one. Low miles, no mods, 1-2 owner, no accidents. Mine had a fender replaced and the owner had all the paperwork from Honda on the work they did, yet Carfax didn't show it.

am i looking at something wrong? the passenger seat does NOT look OEM. did the newer models come with some kind of faux glovebox too? what's with the papers hanging out under the dash on the passenger side. again, that is not an OEM pass. seat.
edit: after looking around maybe they are stock lol. i know that the 06+ filled in the cool hole at the top of the seat but those seats still look huge. i am not a fan of the newer seats, bleh.

to the OP. that price is still pretty high. carmax has lowballed me in the past when i was trying to sell my TL. i manage to get $2500 more out of it actually trading it in at the dealer that sold me my s2000. i have spoken with other people that have also been low-balled and subsequently sold an overpriced car at carmax.
If a car comes in and needs any work done to it, it's done 100% in shop and their people are not the best. I looked at an S2000 there that was curb rashed all over the front bumper, had the door handle repainted (but chipping/peeling/flaking everywhere) along with some other issues here and there. And as you noted, you can't negotiate with them on the price, so when I pointed those items out to them I was informed they would be repainted/repaired and then I could purchase it at full (already expensive) asking price. I was disappointed with that experience
