Default I need some S2000 info, please

I'm gonna condense this if I can.

This spring I called a honda dealer told them I was a large guy 6'2" and was interested in a S2000 they told me they were $40,000 and that I was to big to fit in the car. I figured they should know and went and ordered a 350z.

After having no info about my 350z, the dealer knows nothing! I began contemplating other cars. Well I found this board and some of you told be different. So today I found a dealer in the area with a used s2000 and took it for a short test drive.

The car fit like a glove there was plenty of room and I was very impressed with it. The one thing I didn't like about it was the digital display panel, it kinda makes me feel like I'm driving a motorcycle instead of a sports car.

I have 3 questions:

Are the s2000s all made in japan? I hope so

Is there a after market replacement for the digital display? I hope so

And finally is there any major defects in this vehicle? I hope not

I have 3 questions:

Are the s2000s all made in japan? I hope so Yes, in the same plant as the NSX

Is there a after market replacement for the digital display? None that I now of, but if there is a will ( and Cash) there is a way. But it does grow on you. I would not change it for anything.

And finally is there any major defects in this vehicle? Nothing major, other then the dealers selling/servicing them. There are several changes that where found in the MY00-01 cars that can be updated. Read this thread, it has complete details https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=45233

Oh, and don't pay a dime over MSRP. They can be had for less even.

i'm 6'2 also, about 200lbs, and the headroom and legroom are great. better than many larger cars. it is a very "snug" cockpit (i.e. not a lot of room left to right for elbows and so on) but after 3500 miles i have no regrets at all.

I'm 6'-1" and I fit just fine. $40k is too much. Find an honest dealer that will sell for <= MSRP. And I believe the answers are... Yes, No and No.

Nopes
Spoon Only owns 1 analog Cluster.. that is part of their personal collection. They arent available
The Spoon S2000 uses a STACKS digital telometry system instead of the OEM Cluster.

INCREDIBLE! I know Honda salesmen have shown their ignorance about this car and have LOST sales but this has to be a rare one. A saleman who is so stupid as to tell a prospective buyer to go elsewhere.
We've just got to start an archive of "infamous" dealers and dumbass salesmen. It will surely provide comedy release for those times when you just want to

1) Yes
2) No
3) No

4) your dealership has some idiots working there.

6'6" is probably too tall and $40K was o.k. for about two months in late 1999. MSRP or less should be the goal.

1. yes
2. no, but it won't take very long and you'll be glad the dash is like it is.
3. only minor color combination changes.
