I need a Windshield
Ouch! I was driving my new silver/black Stook this past weekend, going about 70 on the interstate, when a semi passed me and drifted into the center lane runnig over a pile of rocks and sprayed my baby. I pulled over and just about got sick when I saw the 15-20 chips in my front bumper and hood, and the 10-12 pits in my virgin windshield. Most of the paint damage was repairable with touchup paint and is mostly unoticeable.
If anyone out there knows where I can get a good deal on a replacement windshield of if you have one in PERFECT condition, I'd appreciate it.
Nice to be a new member and glad there's a place for owners to chat and meet!!!

Weekend before last I got hit by a big stone on the left hand side (passenger in Aus). It was so big I saw it coming
. Left a big pit. I was not happy.
Then the next day I was between runs at Wakefield and noticed a crack in the middle of my windscreen from a small chip. I hadn't even noticed that stone but it had cracked the windscreen.
Insurance bought me a new one for only $400 excess and no damage to my no claims bonus. Not bad for a $1600 windshield. Looks as good as new.

A bit off topic, but we have a Wakefield here in the Boston area too!
Now for the on topic stuff - make sure the installers know what they are doing and not end up scratching the paint, the wipers and that they put on the rubber moldings well.

Windshield replacement is covered under your comprehensive portion of car insurance. I have had 5 windshields replaced or more and never pay any deductable. Even better, it doesn't impact your rates.
One thing that I have learned is that the insurance companies would much rather fix the windshield rather than replace it. I know that is a shocker there. The windshield companies would rather replace the windshield as opposed to fix it. I just make sure that the windshield company and I are on the same page before anything is done.

And remember to be thankful that Honda gave us a soft windshield. It's not so resistant to rocks slamming into it, but is also is not so damaging to your face if you happen to be the penetrating missile during a sudden deceleration episode.

If I'm the missile, I was an idiot for not wearing a seatbelt...and I don't care HOW soft our windshields are, you're going to completely rearrange your face going through one. but it would be an interesting one-way trip
