lol, this thread is pointless in my opinion. Congratulations on working hard and whatever. Honestly though, do you need to advertise that on a forum? We're all proud of you....lol.
If you think the thread is pointless then why are you waisting your time posting. Maybe you are going to dislike the young people on here regardless, but I am happy to see that many of them are intelligent and ambitious. I would much rather talk to a kid that treats me with common decency than some bully who wants to get involved in a thread that they don't even care about just to put down someone for something that they are working very hard to accomplish. If you think its this thread is pointless then keep it to yourself. Obviously there are quite a few of us that have found this thread to be far from pointless

but I could never have dreamed of owning either one of them if it wasn't for the support of my parents. Food and shelter is worth a LOT more $ than a lot of us young people realize.

I am really thankful for everything my parents have provided for me. Especially living here where the rent is outrageous. I turned down a year of living in a crappy dorm and choose to remain with my parents. In turn, the scholarship money I received that year was able to pay for my car completely.

Now, the only thing I see on these boards from people my age that I find a little annoying is the lack of capitalization and punctuation. I don't care if your grammar/spelling/whatever sucks, just make sentences to fool my eyes.

It is annoying because their posts are hard to read. I always assume that they know better, but only because I try to give everyone the benefit of any doubt. Even if the sentences aren't perfect, a period now and then helps (as long as they're not in the wrong places).

These kids do actually know better, don't they?

theres an adjective for kids who spend all of their teenage years working to pay for a sports car, and its neither 'intelligent' nor 'ambitious'

Im eighteen (well nineteen tomorrow) and just got my 2000 S2000. I've had a 97 Integra with clean mods, a 2000 Yamaha R6, a 95 BMW M3, a 2003 Yamaha R6 and my 2000 S2k. I've never had a ticket (amazing in this town) and drive pretty maturely most of the time although I'm gonna say I've had a gaurdian angle with me on an occasion or two. Glad to have got it all outta my system. Everyone that's young on this board is probably going to say they're the exception to the young=idiot rule, but I'm gonna say they're probably all right. From what I've seen you're all a classy bunch and I commend all those who've worked so hard to earn what they love. Good Job everyone!

To start off, I AM a young teen (16 years old) and not considered by any means to be a grown adult, therefore have little say in this matter... but keep in mind I paid for my S2000 (bought it used for 14k), have not crashed any time (people have actually backed into me twice), Autox it every month so I DO respect the car and how deadly it can be, and I am about to buy a used 2005 Yamaha R6 for my b-day (a present from me, well, to me ).... I have a 3.9 gpa in school, and I have two jobs on top of that.

BUT ANYWAY... most teens I must say (at least here in San Antonio, but I am shure I speak for everywhere and everyone) are extremley immature and I see cars crahsed in my high school about every week... I mean... SOME KID ROLLED OVER THEIR CAR RIGHT IN FRONT OF SCHOOL last week! makes you wonder how it happened doesnt it??

Whats worse, most of the people I know drink and drive, and I dont mean drink... I mean DRINK! and drive. I dont know how most kids my age manage to get by I guess since most of them get everything from their parents they dont appreciate what they have...

I am just mad of kids saying that they dont like their cars; or they drive them to stupid (not fast, but just stupid); and complain that they want a better car when they dont even have a job or make money by themselves....

And I can easily tell you (being one of them, not bad drivers but 16 yrs old ) that 99.9% of teens are the worst drivers in the world!!! They dont pay attention to what's on the road or don't take the time to learn how to drive good... AHH!

... what do yall think?

"A car is like a gun, you need to learn how to use it and respect it " <--- Is what most teens dont get... and trust me i've asked!
Statistically speaking, I hate to say it, but the young drivers are the most accident-prone.

It's nice to see an intelligent post from a young person such as yourself. Keep yourself safe. Do NOT drink and drive. And respect the power of your car.

If you can help instill those values in other folks your age, you'll be doing them a service.

Best wishes! Hope to see you around the board.
