I hated the S2000 for the longest time. for god sake i drove an SRT-4... it was brute power but no handling at all. I fell in love with the S2000 while working at a Honda dealership. I drove the car and my thoughts and hate went out the window. Here I am 2 years later with a beautiful S2000 I still enjoy driving every day.

I used to have a general disdain for S2000s. I had a fast S13 with lots of handling mods, and other mods. I drove my friend's S2000 once, and was put into a dillema...sell my S13 that I had had for a billion years and put a billion dollars into?? I drove his car again at another time, and ended up buying an S2000 about a month later.

Don't miss the S13 even one bit. I was really surprised the first time I took the S2000 to the track. It would have given my modded S13 a run for it's money even when the S2000 was bone stock on stealership shitty tires. I was really happy with the types of cars I was passing up. It was fast, handled better than any other stock car I'd ever driven, and was so fun to drive it was almost illegal...AND the gas mileage was way up from my S13. I was sick of having a modded teenager car. I wanted something fun, but more grown up. The S2000 has class, too. The convertible keeps the GF happy, and it's admittedly fun on warm night cruises. The AC is ice freaking cold, and the car looks really really really really nice.

Best decision ever.

Same with me, I was acually driving from DC to VA Beach to buy an Evo. I stayed at my friends house for the night who happened to own an S2000. He was deploying in a few weeks, ( we were both in the military at the time) and was looking to get rid of it. I had no intrest in it until he took me for a drive.

Let's just say I have yet to get my Evo.

Well, I bought a 72 240Z in November 71 and kept it for 16 years - great car! The 05 S2000 has 100 more hp and more gears. I almost bought an 04 350Z but drove my buddies 04 S2000 and liked the way it handled. Closer was my wife said what color are we getting...

My buddy let me drive his S2k and less than 3 months l bought my own. It is so true that you just fall in love with this car. I let a buddy of mine drive mine, and he ended up buying one a month later.

Wow, I'm suprised there aren't a lot more people like me....

I loved this car since 1999. Dreamed of owning one for a long time. Also, whoever says this thing doesn't look good on paper is seriously crazy. It's VERY attractive on paper.

Back when the S2000 was launched I wasn't but 12 or so. Of course I had all the subscriptions and - just like the magazines - I loved and worshipped BMWs. Of course at the time I had no concept of money and things like insurance, maintainence, operating costs, etc meant nothing - I just thought the M Roadster was the poop and Hondas were slow/stupid.

My dad on the other hand LOVED the S2000 since he saw that ad with the yellow and red S2000s parked in the snow? He would always say thats the car he wanted - blah blah blah.

I just wrote it off and continued lusting after BMWs until mid high school when a very well off friend got a new E46 M3 convertible our junior year. The upkeep on the car was surreal and the performance wasn't that great - I suppose I had just built it up too much in my mind from the years of endless magazine reviews on what was seemingly the best car ever. The seats wore quickly, the exhaust note wasn't that great (actually inaudible vs the engine noise), the navigation seemed dated - I guess it just wasn't as cool as I had thought they were. Also, at the time I had focused all my attention on something more realistic at the time - a Datsun 240Z which I built into an L28ET turbo'd monster.

After a while I wanted a newer car - and after test driving everything that interested me and doing some serious market research I knew the S2000 was the best choice. Easy to work on, great to drive/look at, reliable - the list was endless and its my idea of a perfect modern sports car - Has everything you need (Xenons, 6 speed, LSD, great looks, good power, power softtop, CD player, leather) - and nothing I don't.

Its my favorite car under 40K - and if something were to happen to mine I'd buy another one ASAP.
