I want to get headers for my S2000....
I have looked at DC Headers in the $300's and Comptech in the $900's. What gains if any should I expect from either and is it really worth paying almost three times as much for comptech...Warranty issues is the only reason I heard for going with comptech and not meesing with the warranty per Honda.
I appreciate any help and advice I can get.

You really ought to do a search, since there are a ton of posts about a header (note it is singular, since we have an inline four engine).
Insofar as I know, there is Comptech, Mugen, Spoon, and DC. I think that Toda may have one also. I'm pretty sure that all of them except the DC are in the $1000 and up range.
WHAT I HAVE READ
The DC does nothing at all - not even significantly lighter.
The Mugen helps the mid-range. Don't recall HP claims or weight.
The Spoon helps the high end and gives you 10 HP (HP claim is maybe BS).
Have not heard anything re the Comptech.
MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Spoon as compared w/ the stock header:
The spoon is somewhere about 7 to 10 lbs. lighter than stock. I believe that it smoothed out the VTEC transition and that it gave me more mid-range grunt. I cannot prove that, because I did not do a before/after dyno. My butt dyno tells me so though.

DC is cheap if u compare to mugen or spoon. i drove my friend's S2000, he got injen intake, DC header & HKS exhaust. i floored it, VTEC is way different from stock of mine. anyway u'll get what u pay for!!
I've done a ton of research on the Mugen header. Depends who you talk to, but most of them say that there is a noticeable mid-range increase as well as a smoothing out of v-tec transition. Now there is one concensus---mugen header and exhaust sound great.
I've opted not to buy the header because I feel the gain, if any, is minimal. I think I'm just looking to gain too much from my bolt on mods that anything I do will be a huge dissapointment.
I also think a lot of guys say they feel a huge difference bacause they have several mods on their car at which point you can't really tell what is making the real power. Also, for me personally, I'd make myself feel a difference if I paid $1000+ for the mod.

if you are planning on spending about ~1000-1500 then i believe one of the best things to do is get a new 4.44 or 4.77 gear. From what i hear in other thread i hear that it makes a VERY noticeable diffrence.
