Hey Rice. Howzit?

My Dad's side of the family is from Hawaii. The big island to be exactl although the old man now lives in Kihei on Maui.

My Mom's side is Scottish/Irish. Thus the "Hapa" moniker.

I was born and raised here in S. CA but I get to Hawaii as much as possible and thankfully, my parents brought me up in both cultures so I appreciate both sides. Its pretty funny actually. For example, yesterday I had to represent and wore the green but drove in to work in my bright yellow S2000 with a Hawaiian pride license plate frame.

Da Hapa

I wouldn't say apples to oranges. More like Green apples to Red apples... the IS being the Green apple. I believe that the Accord stratle the fence on a family car and sports sedan. It's not as family oriented as the Camary and Tarus, yet not in the same class as the IS300 and BMW 3 Series. But that's what I like about the car.

I do admire the IS300, but I do think that it's a bit pricey. The Accord V6 with all the options including navi and leather is about $26,500. The IS300 is closer to $33,000. If I had to choose between the two, the Accord would win because of the price difference.

But we just have separate opinions, and I respect yours

I would have just kept my '97 Supra TT, since the S2000, not the desire for a new car, made me switch.

If I had to consider something new, the 350Z (coupe, not conv.), G35C, and RX8 would be at the top of my list.

I would have gone one of two ways:

1) Kept my Integra and saved my pennies for an e46 m3.
2) Gone "practical" and bought an RSX Type S.

Probably woulda been number 2, to be honest.

I would have ended up with a 350Z most likely. I still have a 1976 280Z (with only 53k original miles) that I would like to fully restore someday.

Probably another 3000GT VR4 (since I wish I never would have sold my old one), or a Supra TT.
