... you know it honestly I have no doubt it'll run and I have no doubt it'll be fast given what i've seen with other 13b's. I give you an A for originality, this is one swap that I haven't heard about and one that not that hard to do. I say go for it!

... And I can't promiss how much I'll help out, you know I don't like getting my hands dirty. But, I'll be happy to grab us a couple cases of beer (parrat bay for me) and hand you the tools you need

hahah thanx bro. sounds like a plan. i think if i can sell enough of the crap that i have for the F22C including the motor and trans ill be able to fund enough of the stuff to get this done in a decent amount of time. we will see tho.

thanx for the help bro. ill be getting rid of the ems i have then and getting a 13B ems instead. im doing the 13B because it is still more reliable than a 20B cosmo and ill be able to hit the power goals i am looking for easily with the 13B. no need to go the extra size.

do you konw if the speedo and tach run off the ECU also. im almost sure the speedo does but i want to know.

ive got the 13B we are going to use already, and ive got a few harnesses to start us out with. i would like to keep as much functionality as possible.
I know the speedo gets its input from the sensor in the OEM transmission. it's been so long since I actually doodled w/ the ECU... I remembered I had the "A" connector slightly loose and I had speed showing but no tach. My car ran fine. My friend had an old 1012 and if the car did not show speed it would stutter and run like crap. His tach was functional but speedo was dead. So in conclusion I would say that the speedo is controlled by the ECU somehow. I just don't have the diagrams in front of my to look at.

If you look at the EMS diagram A9 is the speedo input and A19 is the tach output.

I would assume that you take the 13B speedo wire (from trans) and wire it into the S2K wiring then take the input (A9) and connect it to the 13B EMS and the tach output of the 13B EMS would be wired to the A19. Can you picture what I'm talking about?

Contact Xyster as wiring would be more fresh in his head than mine.

hope this helps somewhat.

Also, good luck taking on this swap. It's not the choice I would have done but it is probably the first "trial" of its kind. I don't know much about rotaries but I do know they have a tendency to blow up as people mentioned. If I was going to try this swap I would have done the 20B. How much heavier is a 20B compared to a 13B? Then again you already have a 13B so why waste it right?

So far its:
LSx swap = check
2JZ = check
SR20 = check
13/20B = work in progress

I'd like to see an RB2x swap next!

i can see what your saying and i will deffinately write this down for referance later on once we get the motor mounted. shouldnt take long to get that done since the guy thats helping me has been making 13b swap mounts for years now and knows his way around a rotary like the back of his hand.

ive contacted xyster about his swap already and hopeing that i get a response back from him sometime. thank you very much for the help.

i see what youre saying about the actual reliability of the motor itself but the 13b can be very reliable if you take the right precausions. just like any motor there is going to be a limit to how far a motor will go before it gives up. im not too worried about how long it lasts just yet. im more concerned on making it work and then later ill go nuts with it and see how much i can pull out of it. seeing all the crazy things they are doing over in japan with the rotary makes me think that anything is possible with this motor. thank you again for the kind words and all the input youve given me. im sure ill have more questions later. (tranny/rear end)

Yeah my friend has an 94 FC and he always makes sure to check the oil and change it every 3k. IIRC he's still on his first motor and he's pushing ~300 HP. He told me the 13B was finicky so you just have to keep close tabs on it kinda like you have OCD. So far so good for him.

HURRY HURRY! I wanna see the swap done already!

As far as the rearend the S2K is the same as the FC/FD IIRC as far as size. You'd probably just have to get a custom driveshaft made is all.
