Maybe it is from being used to smaller cars in general but I feel the "snap back" effect when slamming on the pedal on the right - but that is usually at VTEC range

Ask a passenger sometime if they feel it, they will say Yes - and please let me know before you do that again .. or .. please do that again

Even with the slow start at low RPM's ... everyone else sure seems small in the rear view leaving stop lights.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Don't compare this car to a Civic or a Z06. Both comparisons are "unfair", however, compare this car to a Mustang GT Convertibe, or a Trans Am Convertible, or a Regular Corvette, or a Porcshe Bosxter S and you will notice that the low end power is not there. Most people don't VTEC their cars going a stead 20-50 on the street. This is the complaint of most people. Freeway driving is a different story. It's all good on the freeway.

true but comparing a v8(5.7 liter) to a I4(2.2) is not fair.

Honda made this car to be a HIGH revving engine, the history of the S shows us that Honda is dedicated to smaller engines that produce high amounts of HP with efficiency being right smack with it. No other car company comes close making a production small sports car that has the flow of the F20C head.

I feel that High end power is more of an adrenaline rush than having a low end torque monster.

When I am in my friend's car...its great to have that push back in the seat feel as 300+ torque give you, but...the power just slowly goes away and then nothing, In second gear torque is then there again, but then after that the engine is past its peak torque and the adrenaline rush is gone.

With the S2000...it is a slow build up and the power is there after you get through 1st gear and the car just keeps pulling and pulling making my grin get larger and larger.

You can compare this car to a Civic...well only the CTR

While I do like the S2000 (just got back from the first top down drive in months) most times I prefer the BMW S54 -- horsepower down low, horsepower up high -- and torque everywhere. One of the few motors that continues to pull all the way to redline. You can be lazy if you want or play S2000 race car driver if you want.

With the S2000 you either have to be willing to play the rev game -- or go home.
