trade it in on a used Corvette convertible. You'll never get much low end torque out of a 2L engine.

If you have to buy new tires anyway and you're willing to accept the trade-offs, this may still be the "cheap" way to go. I think that LOW aspect ratio tires are better for lateral performance and if you get "Z" rated (or better), the heat thing should not be a real issue for the S2K. I do, however like to go from stop light to stop light very quickly and I don't drive at top speed for extended periods. I might be willing to take the 2%.
