Good points, but consider these, too.
1. Testing one intake with the bumper on and one with the bumper off may have skewed results. We duplicated as much as possible the testing procedure and runs were within 10-15 minutes of one another with no change in temperature.
2. Bumper off really does not affect air flow on the dyno as the filter can only suck in so much air. On the street, I would expect more gains, as air flowing past will be cooler than stagnant air while on the dyno. You will understand what I mean once you install yours and cut the proper ventilation holes.
3. As for the computer "learning," that is not correct. At WOT, the Honda program goes into closed loop and uses predetermined MAPs.
4. I was VERY surprised to see results like this for an intake while on the dyno, as there is no way to replicate being on the road at x mph. True test will be on the track!

It appears they both have no hydrolock prevention. Is this true? Has someone gutsy tried revving and putting the end in a bowl of water?

>>>Stock vs. INJEN

http://www.randdmotorsports.com/images/dyn...ck_vs_injen.jpg<<<

AWESOME!!!

What do you mean by stock? When you say stock versus Injen do you mean 100% bone stock versus Injen PLUS your other mods such as the Spoon headers, or is the car otherwise the SAME other than the intake swap notwithstanding other go-fast bits? Just checking, I think I know the answer!!

Lots of extra area under the curve. If the plots are true to what the car does on the road, this is a great mod for the bux. You'll feel it on the butt dyno and improve the car's measured performance. The torque curve improvements should make the car noticeably better in street driving. Less of a penaly for being in the wrong gear, plus more vtec zip. Potentially a bit more cruise MPG.

I'd like to see someone perform some speed-to-speed in-one-gear tests. (I'll do it with my AP-22 if anyone is in CT) Such as 30-50 MPH in various gears, 60-80 MPH and so forth. No shifting, very repeatable. In stock form the car has great accel in vtec but is fairly ordinary when out of vtec. I think that this mod should really help the car in that regard.

I also think the difference in dyno numbers between the injen and AEM seems a little to large to be just a result of the intake design alone. I could see a 1 hp gain for the injen by not having a coupling and some slightly larger bends, but really they are so nearly identical that these dyno results seem almost exaggerated. I believe the ECU and engine temp MUST have contributed to those reults.

As for the question of available colors, the AEM is available in red, blue, or silver.
